Truth be told I am not a D&D guy myself, but at least this anthro version of me *hisssss hissssssss* has a somewhat funny story.


A friend of mine is super hardcore into Dungeons & Dragons right now and has been bugging me to get involved with it since summer. I have politely declined but the other night I gave in and said "okay, fine" and started to design a character. It ended up taking like 2 hours.


"It's called Dungeons & Dragons," I said, "so can I get a piece of that '& Dragons' as my character?"


"What do you mean?" he asked.


"Can I be a dragon? A straight up RPG-ified version of myself?" I replied.


The answer was this entire diatribe about how you have to be a human character of some form and all of this nonsense. A simple "no" would have been better. Looking through the bestiary I pointed out dragons and dinosaurs and said "I want that" but I soon found out it had to be some anthropomorphic version of said animal, and it had to have a "as character" section in the Monster Guide.


I am not making this up, it is all VERY confusing.


I ended up settling on this race called Lizardfolk, anthro alligators in essence. I chose that and after deciphering all of the initial stats by rolling dice and what I assumed to be "guesstimating", my stats were set in stone. My friend informed me that the DM ("Dungeon Master" for those not in the know, he apparently controls what happens) is real anal about people drawing their own characters. So now I had to break my number one rule of art - "DRACOKON DOESN'T DO ANTHRO ART".


"He looks kinda cute, I'll pick him," I said pointing to the Lizardfolk guy on the page. Truth be told he was a little too rugged and "swampy" for my liking (I cleaned him up and gave him a more crocodilian mouth) but all in all I'd tap it.


"Are you just picking him based solely on the merits of his attractiveness, Draco?" My friend asked slightly annoyed. I don't think he knew how non-seriously I was taking this.


"Yes. Yes I am." I answered.


He sighed. "You're supposed to choose a character with stats that cater to how you want to play."


"I don't even know HOW to play at all. Technically you could give me any character and tell me to do something and I wouldn't be any none the wiser. Lizardfolk guy is kinda sexy, I want him." I crossed my arms and put my foot down. This was my character-to-be.


Just to spite him and the D&D team I seriously considered drawing Monsieur in an inappropriate pose but when my friend saw the guidelines for the gator cock on my page he expressed distaste in the idea and said the DM would get pissed off. So instead I made a few small changes and instead put some emphasis on his cute feet. I dunno what it is about reptile feet but after writing The Raptor Experiment last year I developed a special kind of appreciation for them. :3


Anyway, Monsieur has a few little extras on his person that isn't present on the "real" dragon version of me. I gave him a piercing on his fin because it seemed appropriate for the "theme" of the game, and the tattoo (phonetically "ice" in Draconic) serves the same purpose. The little necklace (it's a Zeta) is there to cater to the RPG feel as well, and also partly because that area of him seemed "empty" without it there.


Oh, and he has a sexy tail, too. >:3

Ohhh i just found this one.. As you probably know i am extremely fussy then it comes to anthro, there is not many i like. and this... I like a hell of a lot. I adore his face he is just so cute.. and you say that is the anthro version of you aye.. ohhh you better be careful showing off like this or your anthro self may have and admirer. ;-) But seriously man beautiful pic, love it. keep it up.

Hehe, well you know me "there is no anthro Kon" - this is just a special case because as much as I fought about it I couldn't "go feral" for the D&D game... and ironically M Kon has seen little to no use as a D&D character because I don't play that often (the guys whom I hang out with aren't too appreciative of me basically touting a scaly character around on the sole purpose that I find him attractive instead of being all SRS BIZNIZ about building a good player).

I don't like anthro either but I think Kon is a cutie, I'd give him some company. :3

"I feel your pain Dracokon, I play D&D myself and am a huge believer in my players being able to play whatever they want...most of the time. I am likewise a huge supporter of my players playing Dragons and such. I say play what you want, and if it turns out the chara is good at what he does then so be it. But if you ever wanna play an actual dragon just hit me up, specially if you are confused about anything, I might be able to help you out and you could bring the chara to one of these games and reek all sorts of awesome havoc.

Who says dragons are only for the DM....well maybe everyone that says dragons are too powerful for their own good maybe. But hey, hit me up for conversation if you do want to talk D&D, it is not so bad as one might think, and usually the first campaign is always the worst." ^-^
