Welcome to the first contest of SoFurry!

This is the first contest of its kind, so we're seeing this as an experiment. We will see how things are working and may change a few things for the next contests.

So, what is this contest about? It's mostly about having fun! We are working on a little titbid for the winner and there may be some other prices in the future, but for now, see the contests as a little variety from everyday's life.

Here are the conditions:

Topic: Valentine's Day
Category: Art
Type of Drawing: Black and White Sketch (Shading optional)
Media: Traditional or Digital
Colors allowed: Black, White, Red
Theme: Tame or Adult
Keyword: VDayContest
Dead line: 17th February 2010

So, what does that mean? You have to draw a sketch in black and white (for example, pencil on paper) and because red is the color of love, passion and romance, this is the only color you are allowed to use this time. A creative use of it will raise the chance to get a higher position in the ranking. Let it be some passionate lovings or a romantic couple, everything is allowed, just keep in mind that you don't forget the topic.

To participate in the conest, you just have to use „VDayContest“ as one of your keywords. With the search function it's no problem to find your entry, so the judges can have a look at your work.

Besides me, the judges will change every round. Wanna be a judge in one of the next contests? Send me a little 'application' PM. Just two or three sentences why you want to be a judge, not a whole essay and we'll see. Keep in mind that future contests don't have to be about art, music and story are available, too ;)

How are the judges going to rate your pic? Well, depending on the topic, every judge will give an entry 1 to 10 points (1 being worst, 10 being best). Points are not going to be released, but we will show you the first three winners of the contest. If you don't win this time, don't be sad, there will always be a next time!

Just post your entry with the keyword until the 17th February 2010. Be sure to read the conditions carefully and have fun!

And no, sorry, if you are a judge in a contest, you can't participate in the same contest. The possibility giving yourself a 10 would be somehow high, if you know what I mean ;)

Yeah, there are going to be writing contests. We'll try out different things, but there are will be definitely writing contests :)
