About star dragon
Wow, someone's reading my profile. Surprising since I don't have any art... anyway, since you're here, just know that this account is mainly so that I can organize my favorites and submit reviews. I would love to contribute, but I gotz n0 skilzores in the art department. Browse through my favorites to see if we like the same stuff and I'm your soul mate! Or not. I'm not going to tell you what to do. If you're still interested in me for some reason and you want a better bio, you can e-mail or note and I'll get back to you. Or you could just read Furfect. It's got a lot of info about my life that you might want to know if you were so inclined. Probably also some stuff you'd rather not know, but that's besides the point. species Jackal

Latest Journal posted 20 Feb 2014

Just a quick note to let everyone know that I'll be attending Furthe'more in March. It's being held during Spring Break, so there should be very little standing in my way of going. Sciggles said that she had an open space in her room, so I've asked about it. I haven't heard back from her on that yet, but with luck I'll be able to stay with her for the weekend. I ought to be there from Thursday to Sunday. For all the other details that normally go in con memes, you can just check an old one as none of the pertinent details have really changed. And really, trying to meet someone based on a vague physical description has an overwhelming failure rate, I've found. If you're going to be in town and you want to meet up, just note or e-mail or skype or something at me and then we can exchange phone numbers and get it worked out like that. My badge name will be 'Bucephalus' like usual.

They put on a great con in their inaugural year, so I have high hopes for this one. I may even volunteer, since I no longe...

Thanks! A friend suggested this website, saying it was better than Furaffinity. Definitely better! :3

Almost works as a starship's name: FFD Uranium235-Stardragon. Anyway a silly sheep is again wondering about The Cross Time Cafe. News?

Edit: Ah, I see on the Disposable Chat thing that Nebulous gives us CTCers a candle in the darkness: http://198.20.236.200/
Cool.

Yeah, the forum has been back online for some time. I'm sorry I didn't give you a heads-up about it. I thought you knew.

It has been back online from the troubles on Jan1. But this is some sort of new trouble - seemingly with an internet domain name server.

Both http://www.crosstimecafe.com/index.php and plain http://www.crosstimecafe.com give just a placeholder banner. The numbers above get to the right place for the full strength cafe. Or perhaps this behavior isn't common? Do you see the forum with the words address or no?

Yeah, it just started doing that for me now, too. I'm at a loss to explain it. Thanks for showing me the backdoor though.

I'm attempting to reach FFD or U-235 in reference to The Cross Time Cafe forum. If bits of the previous sentence made sense, please let a Ram know what's going on (if you know).

If not, thanks for your time. Pax, Ram.

You have indeed reached your target, Ram, despite my very regrettable tradition of not standardizing my usernames across multiple websites. NeoTravis is currently taking advantage of the advent of the new year to refresh and renew our little online playground by doing some routine maintenance on the servers. It has taken longer than he expected to complete the work, so he set up this nifty little utility for us to use to communicate in the meantime. It's a little squidgy, and several people have reported that they need to refresh the page in order to see new messages, but for a temporary patch, it'll hold.

Do you think you'll ever make another hypnosis story? I really liked Hypnotized, and I'd love to see more stories like it
star dragon 11 months ago
Oh, without a doubt! Hypnosis has become one of my favorite elements recently. If you haven't checked out "Unwind" yet I'd highly recommend it. It was my entry in a story contest on FA. It won fifth overall out of thirty-five or so. It's not perfect, but its induction received the highest praise any of the judges could put into words. It turned out so well and I had such fun writing it that I'm thinking of making the nightclub where it took place a recurring setting. And don't be fooled by the fact that it's not XXX. I think if you give it a chance you'll find it quite stimulating.

Oy! *tugs on your ear* Question!

I've already got my first duty station lined up, but I've been wondering about life on board a ship. I love your journals. Would you recommend going aboard a ship? I'm a Corpsman, so I don't necessarily HAVE to do a sea rotation... but I'm kind of curious about it.

I can't say it's the most fun thing ever, deployment was pretty brutal in the in-between parts that I didn't write about. I didn't have a choice in the matter, but even though you do I certainly would recommend serving on a ship. It's something that you should do at least once. If you don't like it, then you can rotate out. That's something that describes my attitude pretty thoroughly. I'm really glad that I went on deployment, but I have absolutely no desire to go on another one. Shipboard life has its complications for sure, but you get to go places! I assume that you didn't enter the Navy with the intent of taking in the sights in scenic... King's Bay, Georgia. I certainly didn't. My travels are some of my fondest memories and I'm so tremendously glad that I took the time to record them in such great detail. This is a unique opportunity that you should seize while you still can. If you really like working on-shore, you'll have unlimited opportunities to do that after you get out. The free world-tour that the Navy will give you is a limited-time offer. This is an experience that you'll have for the rest of your life. Utterly beyond compare.

If you get your choice of platform, I'd recommend an LHD or LHA, something small that carries landing craft and/or Marines. Smaller ships have less demanding schedules and they get a lot more port calls. There's only 20-30 ports in the world big enough for a carrier to pull in, and only a select few are willing to let us do it. Plus, those platforms have really stacked medical departments since they're closer to the action. Subs have much smaller crews, so you'll have a lot of responsibility, and thus good chances to advance quickly. 'Course if you like hanging out in the back, doing paperwork and treating stuffy noses, feel free to go with a carrier!
