Hullo fellow furries, curious lurkers, and trolls.
I am a day-dreamy twenty-something who leads a quiet life painting and attending school. I also enjoy margaritas, gummy bears, and big men who like to flip me around in bed. I am a bisexual woman, so don't be surprised to see characters who share my sexuality in my stories. I am also bipolar, so don't be surprised to see the occasional weepy journal on here.
Truth be told, I don't love wolves in particular. They're just more fun to write about! Wolves are already deeply embedded in the art of story, from werewolves to Little Red Riding Hood. I think that's why so many people enjoy writing about them and embellishing these myths and fairy tales.
I actually love all animals. When I first came to the website I was a curious cat who lurked about chatting people up and clumsily attempting to make friends. Made the leap from cat to wolf, but all animals are dear to my heart. I own two dogs and a bearded dragon named Zona. Have loved reptiles a long time, as well as rats. =P
I blame my admiration for anthro art on the onslaught of anthro entertainment I grew up with in the 80's. Shows and productions like Zoobulliee Zoo and Cats sealed my doom. And here I am - an anthro fan.
I don't really draw anthro myself (though I did my own somewhat burry avatar). But when I first came here, I really admired the anthro art -- and still do. Especially the pictures of anthros who are cuddling happily and kissing.
Because I'm just a big fucking softy. <3
So. First of all, happy Thanksgiving! =D
One of my literary idols is James Baldwin, who is famous for his short stories and his many memoirs. It was because of him that I started writing memoirs as a sort of . . . therapeutic practice. I guess. Art just doesn't help me anymore. Not the way writing does.
So yesterday I finished a memoir that I actually started about two years ago. Because everything that happened to me in the army from the years 2006 to 2011 (basically, during the years I was writing the mating season) happened around the holidays. And I always wind up thinking about what happened around now.
So I sat down and wrote about everything that happened. And to finally tell it all feels damn good. Writing it didn't help anyone but me. But if you'd like some mild entertainment, here are the links to both parts.
