After a nine hour flight and a thirty minute trek through the airport to find our luggage, we were able to inject ourselves back into the United States. I took one look at the escalator going out of the secure are, saw that it was clogged with people standing on both sides of the stairs, and instantly knew we were home.
First priority? PUPPY! We bailed out the third member of our pack and headed home.
Wow, what an experience! I was really glad to go, the folks we met were mostly pretty nice, and we had a great time. That said, we were both REALLY ready to come home, where we know the drill, where things are inexpensive, where I can have 24/7 internet access (squee!) and where we have two sheets, air conditioning, ceiling fans and cheap gasoline.
But the thing we both missed most (besides the puppy) were fresh vegetables. They're not often served where we traveled, so tonight's dinner is going to be pasta primavera with a big salad and garlic bread.
