Sometimes you can't see it. The end... or the light. Whatever it is, when you think about it... It's just not in sight. He pushed the save button on the document and turned off his computer. The patter on the window let him know the rain was still heavy. With a slight groan he stood, the ache in his joints was enough to make it hard to get around but not enough to make him stop moving.
With his first few steps he cringed and felt the depth of his self hate again. Unable and a little unwilling he moved to the bathroom and flipped on the light. His reflection taunted him from the silvered glass of his mirror.
He stared at himself for a long time.
He placed a hand on either side of his belly and shook it.
Some little part in his heart broke off. His eyes slowly pulled together to try and keep from crying; as he watched his reaction to his own facial expressions the anger and hate he fel...
