Hello there, I'd like to stick my head over the parapet and wave a greeting.
Well, I'm new to all this. Furriness, I mean. I know one or two things, I've been lurking on the fringes, kidding myself that "well, I like some aspects but I'm not really a furry myself", but eventually I realized that I do want to get involved. To plunge in wholeheartedly! So that's what I'm doing, and I'm doing it here.
FurAffinity is a bit too crowded for me and Inkbunny I've barely even heard about, so SoFurry is my third bowl of porridge and, I hope, is just right. As I say, I've been lurking around for a while, and I've been meaning to join up for a few weeks but I didn't want to until I had some content to offer, even if it's nothing great.
Speaking of content, I like to write, draw and do music, but I don't have much experience at any of them; I only started drawing a few weeks ago and to date I've only made one single picture (my avatar), but I'm working on more and hope to improve quickly. I used to write a little and I wasn't bad at it, but that was years ago now so I'm very rusty. I've got a bit more experience with music, but only in certain aspects (instrument playing and composition, mainly) and recently decided to expand my horizons.
I was working on my instrumentalizing and composition for a while, collaborated with a few people, nothing really came of it, and then I thought "oh, sod this" and decided to it all myself. Including the singing, which is something that I've never ever ever done in any serious way. I'd better learn fast! I'm also getting into production and mixing, and I'm hoping to be a self-producing indie one-man-band, as soon as I can get some material together and a good recording space.
Basically, though, I'm a nub at everything. For the moment. I'm hoping all the immensely skilled (intimidatingly so) people here can give me a few pointers and tell me what I'm doing wrong, and I'm looking forward to getting to know you all. Well, maybe not all, there seem to be rather a lot of you, but a good number of you anyway!
I'd better go and explore what this site (and a very nice site it is too, may I say) has to offer. Exciting! Any recommendations to get me started?
