Just a pair of poems I wrote.
Just wanted to upload a couple of poems I wrote. They came about during a lab for my education class. We were tasked with presenting a lesson plan to our peers, and one person in my lab did a lesson about rhyming poetry. They asked us at the end to come up with a two stanza ABAB poem. My poem apparently wowed them, especially as I came up with it in about five minutes. I wrote the second poem Friday morning, the day after. If SF would let me, I'd put them beside each other, but formatting that would be impossible. Feel free to read the bottom one first if you want to. They make a cycle together.
The stars peeked out from hiding,
The moon rose from the clouds,
For they were done their biding
Behind the bright blue shroud.
The sun has fled the Earth,
And with it went the day;
Now with gleeful mirth,
The night comes and holds sway.
Bright light came from the East,
The sun delcared its war,
Then like a wounded beast,
It loosed a mighty roar.
The moon dimmed in its fright,
The stars did hide and wane,
The sun burned darkness bright,
And day ruled once again.
Hope you liked them. I'm not quite as happy with "Vanquishment" as I am with "Conquest," but I think it's all right. Hopefully, I'll start writing prose again soon too.
