The trio stood together for almost twenty minutes before they separated. Once they did so Rip-Raff was left somewhat confused as he wondered exactly what was going to happen now. His answer came in the form of Larc turning away from the pair and then barking out for them to come and hunt with him. Carl, excited as always to follow behind his alpha, wagged his poof of of tail as he bounded up next to his sibling. It was only after seeing that the brothers were waiting on him that Rip-Raff slowly slowly moved up onto the other side of Carl. Seeing that the midnight lycanroc was still being moody Larc leaned over to gnaw at the rock type pokemon's downturned ear. Grumbling at the other to cut it out the were-lucario pulled back with a chuckle and then lifted his nose into the air. Catching the scent of nearby prey Larc threw himself forward, his massive feet sending grass and dirt flying up behind him, as he took off after dinner.
Carl yipped as he nudged Rip-Raff forward before darting off after his sibling.
It took a few seconds for the midnight lycanroc to comprehend what had just happened but once it was clear that he was not being forced out of the pack the red and white wolf drew himself back and then charged after his two packmates.
The evening was thereafter spent as it was intended with the trio hunting a bunch of noctowl that had made the unfortunate mistake of flying in front of them, and then howling their goodbye to the last full moon of the summer. A drink at the lake and a few more miles of running cemented the end of the summer for the trio and it was just as dawn was about to peek over the horizon that the the lycanthropes returned to their den next to Keith and Max's home. Yawning as only canines can do the three lycanthropes slowly trudged their way to the futon that was their shared bed and then quickly flopped on top of it.
Curling up in their usual places Rip-Raff was stunned when, just as he was about to turn away from the twins as he normally did, he was forced back around by Larc's strong paws. Confusion ripped through the midnight lycanroc as he wondered just what the other alpha male was doing. His answer became evident when two ruby orbs stared back at him with a look that brook no argument.
He had to share his warmth with them.
A slight bit of hesitation did overcome the rock type pokemon as he wondered how he should respond to the other but before he could form a coherent idea he found himself being snuggled up into by Carl. The sleepy beta male didn't bother to ask any questions as he drew himself fully into Rip-Raff's warm, sweaty body before he let out of quiet huff of air as he casually drifted off into dreamland.
Rip-Raff hesitantly reached out to hug the smaller lycanthrope into him, his massive legs enfolding themselves securely around the were-lucaroc, before lowering his muzzle to sniff at the other's head and shoulders. A suddenly swipe of a warm tongue across his nose made the red and white wolf blink. Larc chuckled at the rock type pokemon's surprise right before he reached out to wrap his own arms around the startled midnight lycanroc. When Rip-Raff opened his muzzle to let out of curious bark he found himself silenced as Larc tucked his head over on top of his head and then growled at him to go to sleep.
It took several minutes for Rip-Raff to do as such, especially since he was so very confused about was happening at the moment, but once his mind was able to piece together that he was, not only a part of the pack, but a member whose rank was just below the level of Larc's own status as the most dominant male between the three of them, the red and white wolf sighed and then smiled before drifting off into his own land of dreams.
It was a few seconds later when his stub of a tail began to beat at the mattress, but a swift growl from Larc quickly made it cease its noisy exuberance.
